Day 2
Posted on 28 November 2006 by Clive Gott
Today I ran/walked 4 miles + with my pack on. It felt very comfortable once I had the courage to fasten the straps tightly. It took me an hour to make the trip, felt great to take it off after an hour though. The weekend has re-kindled my hunger to train.
I knew I was going to need a certain type of footwear, at least for the higher part of the climb above the snowline. This was my next challenge. This would be my next big purchase so it was back to Nevisport again. I settled on a great pair of trail shoes to start with. I plumped for Solomon with a Gor-Tex lining. I really do hate getting my feet wet when I am out running or walking.
I have the rucksack, the shoes and a drawer full of other gear at home - I am now ready to go for it...BIG STYLE!
